The Starliner crew escape system is capable of returning all crewmembers to safety in the event of an emergency during launch or ascent. The pusher abort system provides safe crew escape throughout the launch and ascent phase of the mission. A successful test of the crew escape system is a critical milestone ahead of the first crewed launch of the Starliner spacecraft.
