Defensive Blunders Plague Oilers In Game 4 Loss

Edmonton Oilers struggle on defense in 4-3 loss to Vancouver Canucks

Defensive blunders plague Oilers in Game 4 loss

The Edmonton Oilers' playoff hopes are on the brink after a 4-3 loss to the Vancouver Canucks in Game 4 on Monday night. The Oilers have now lost three straight games in the series and will need to win the next three games in order to advance to the second round.

The Oilers were outplayed by the Canucks in all three zones on Monday night. The Canucks outshot the Oilers 38-27 and had a 13-8 edge in Grade A scoring chances. The Oilers also turned the puck over 14 times, leading to several scoring chances for the Canucks.

The Oilers' defensive struggles were particularly evident on the Canucks' first goal. Canucks forward Brock Boeser was able to skate through the Oilers' defense and beat goalie Jack Campbell with a wrist shot from the slot. The Oilers also allowed the Canucks to score on a power play in the third period, which proved to be the game-winning goal.

The Oilers will need to be much better defensively in Game 5 if they want to avoid elimination. The Canucks are a dangerous offensive team, and the Oilers will need to find a way to slow them down. The Oilers will also need to be more disciplined, as they took seven penalties in Game 4.
