ACS Sets Traps After 2 Dogs Brutally Attack Cat on Eastside

Animal Care Services looking for dogs involved in deadly attack

Animal Care Services is looking for the dogs involved in a deadly cat attack in the 3400 block of Nogalitos on the city's East Side. The attack happened just after 9 p.m. Saturday.

According to ACS, two dogs jumped over a fence and attacked a cat in its own backyard. The cat's owner witnessed the attack and tried to break it up. The owner was bitten by one of the pit bulls. The cat died at the scene.

ACS officers set traps in the area and are asking for the public's help in finding the dogs.

ACS warns pet owners to be aware of their surroundings

In light of the recent attack, ACS is warning pet owners to be aware of their surroundings and to take precautions to protect their pets.

Here are some tips from ACS:

  • Keep your pets on a leash when they are outside.
  • Be aware of your surroundings and be on the lookout for other animals.
  • If you see another animal approaching, keep your pet close to you and try to avoid contact.
  • If an attack does occur, try to remain calm and do not put yourself in harm's way.
