Former Elkhorn South volleyball teammates will face off this weekend as Nebraska takes on Creighton. The two teams will meet at the CHI Health Center in Omaha on Saturday at 7 p.m.

Four former Elkhorn South players are on the Nebraska roster: Madi Kubik, Lexi Rodriguez, Anni Evans and Lindsay Krause.

Two former Elkhorn South players are on the Creighton roster: Jaela Zimmerman and Keeley Davis.

The two teams are both ranked in the top 10 in the country.

Nebraska is ranked No. 3 in the AVCA Coaches Poll and No. 4 in the RPI. Creighton is ranked No. 8 in the AVCA Coaches Poll and No. 9 in the RPI.

The match is expected to be a close one. Nebraska has won the last two meetings between the two teams, but Creighton won the last meeting in Omaha in 2019.

The match will be a homecoming for the six former Elkhorn South players.

The six players are all excited to return to Omaha and play in front of their hometown crowd.

“It’s going to be a lot of fun,” Kubik said. “I’m excited to play in front of my family and friends. It’s going to be a great atmosphere.”

“It’s going to be a lot of fun,” Zimmerman said. “I’m excited to play against my former teammates. It’s going to be a great match.”
